Surrey v. London Thai

Every journey reaches an end and so today marks the last hop blog for season 23/24.

There's a playoff final at Wembley the other side of town - but that's not for me. Today, I'm off to match three of the International Surrey Football Spring Series 2024, hosted by Fisher FC , between Surrey and London Thai.

I don't have much idea what level of football we're talking here. Imagining there might be some step five/six players but that is for me to find out and hopefully it should be a good day.

Nice early Sunday train up to Clapham and change onto Rotherhithe. 

Beautiful stroll along the Thames Path in the spring sunshine and St. Pauls Sports Ground is a comfortable 15 minutes walk from station to stadium.

Lovely compact ground,4G surface with a small covered terrace at one end and a small stand opposite the benches.

But the outstanding feature is the backdrop of the City of London definitely a contender for skyline of the season.

Match itself was evenly contested until Surrey took the lead and they went on to control the contest coming out comfortable winners

A great day out at a friendly club in a really nice part of London.
